Dr. Matthias Erb
Dr. Matthias Erb, born in 1966, was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board of ARRI in Munich, Germany, on January 1, 2022. In this position, he focuses on the strategic alignment of the globally active film technology company and is responsible for all business units, among other areas. Matthias Erb has earned degrees in mechanical engineering and economics as well as a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at the Aachen University of Technology. After joining the Volkswagen Group in 2003, Matthias Erb held various management positions in Europe and abroad. He also spent several years as a lecturer for quality assurance at the University of Mainz in Germany while working in management at Audi. From 2014 to 2018, Matthias Erb was with the Volkswagen Group of America, initially as Executive Vice President Engineering & Planning in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and since 2016, as Chief Engineering Officer in Herndon, Virginia responsible for the North American region. Most recently, since 2018, he served as Senior Vice President and Head of Holistic User Experience at Volkswagen in Wolfsburg, Germany.
