Operator Control Unit OCU-1
Hi‑5 and WCU‑4 override solution
Hi‑5 and WCU‑4 override solution
We know how time is of the essence on the set, and even a few seconds can seem like an eternity. My AC is always present on the set nearby me for 95% of the time, but the few times he is not can be crunch time. When I have to frame a new shot and need to control the focus to show my idea to the director, the OCU is a god-sent. One push of the button and I can focus myself. And afterwards I don't have to worry to switch anything back, the AC just grabs it back remotely.

I am actually now on my fourth show using the OCU‑1 as my digital follow focus. I use it almost everyday to be able to do rehearsals at camera with my operator and then send control back to my WCU‑4 hand unit if I can’t stay at the camera.
1st AC (Focus Puller) Ian Barbella (Known for: Gentefied, Moxie, The Exorcist, Teachers, I Am the Night, Corporate, Wakefied and many more)
It makes my work fast and much easier. This is exactly the tool we have been waiting for a long time. From now on it is a fixed part of my camera equipment list.
Cinematographer Birgit Gudjonsdottir, BVK (Known for: Ein Wochenende im August, Tatort, In the Beginning There Was Light, Das erste Jahrhundert des Walter Alen and many more)
The OCU‑1 was great. We had it on the camera most of the show and it was really useful, Greig Fraser ASC really liked having it on there.
