The LMB 4x5 quickly adapts from ultra-lightweight single-stage applications to comprehensive, multi-filter studio setups. Clamp-on, rod mount or swing-away options support an enormous array of lenses, from 62 mm – 165 mm external diameters.

The fourth-generation ARRI Lightweight Matte Box, the LMB 4x5 supports all clamp adapters and many other accessories released since the original LMB-5 was debuted in 1998. To own an LMB 4x5 is to be part of a system relied upon by crews and rental houses worldwide.
At its core, the LMB 4x5 is a two-stage matte box supporting either 4 x 4” or 4 x 5.65” filters. A third filter stage, either fixed or rotating, can be quickly added, or removed and used independently, while a tray catcher and safety loop provide security on set. The tough, plastic sunshade can be unscrewed for close-ups, or replaced with a flexible rubber sunshade, and accessory mounting points support a large array of additional components.
Our latest carbon-fiber top flag is included with every LMB 4x5 set, which features extendable eyebrows. Side flags can be added for advanced flare control, and fold neatly in front of the top flag for storage. Two sets of mattes, in either spherical or anamorphic aspect ratios, neatly clip in and pop out when required.
Fourteen clamp adapters support cine lenses with an external diameter of 80 mm up to 162 mm for quick and simple mounting. For rod mounting, bellows attachments including the typical 138 mm filter ring and screw-in reduction rings can be used; or consider the Tilt and Flex Adapter for a universal solution, particularly ideal for stills lenses or those that expand or rotate during operation.
Securely mount the LMB 4x5 to 15 mm LWS, 15 mm Studio or 19 mm Studio rail systems either directly via the 143 mm clamp adapter, or with the Swing Away Tilt Module, which enables comfortable lens changes and easy reflection management thanks to the integrated tilting mechanism.
