Legacy Analog Cameras

ARRI made its first film camera in 1924, more than a century ago. After spending the next decade innovating and honing their expertise on real productions, ARRI founders August Arnold and Robert Richter worked with chief design engineer Erich Kaestner to launch the ARRIFLEX 35 in 1937, thereby bringing ARRI to the world’s attention.

From there, ARRI film cameras went from strength to strength, winning the trust of international filmmakers and garnering a dozen Academy Sci-Tech Awards. On these pages we share information held in the ARRI archive about them all, from 1937 up to the last analog camera in 2008 – tech specs, brochures, photos, downloads, and more.
