The resilience of the Super 16 film format was demonstrated in 2006 when ARRI released the ARRIFLEX 416. Providing the ergonomics and operational characteristics found in ARRI 35 mm cameras, the 416 was used on TV shows, movies, and short-form productions that appreciated its advanced features and silent operation.
A 416 Plus model followed, with integrated accessory electronics for cleaner camera builds, and then the 416 Plus HS (High Speed) in 2008 - the last film camera ever made by ARRI - doubling the maximum frame rate to 150 fps.
