The role of Heavy Truck and Generator mechanic is a full-time position, on a daily basis; you would be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting to diesel commercial and delivery trucks/vehicles and generators. Knowledge of Paralleling Generator systems is a plus. Fabricating and welding skills are beneficial. Must have a clean driving record. CDL Class B license required, Class A license preferred.
Responsibilities also include:
- Diagnose and repair both engine and electrical component problems
- Build, Fabricate and/or Modify equipment as needed including Commercial and Delivery Vehicles, Generators and Trailers
- Fabricate equipment for warehouse or general rental inventory as required
- Insure that all service records are being diligently kept in an organized fashion in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Ability to work irregular hours, on-call rotation, and/or overnight travel on occasion may be required
Requirements:
- Self-motivated and willing to work with little supervision
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Electrical and mechanical aptitude
- General knowledge of generator theory, systems, equipment and maintenance required
- Ability to read and interpret generator drawings, blueprints and schematics
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Possess valid CDL Class A driver’s license with good driving record
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to operate both standard and power tools
- EGSA Certification a plus
