Who we are

ARRI was founded in Munich in 1917 by filmmakers August Arnold and Robert Richter, driven by the belief that creative vision depends on reliable, precise, and intuitive technology. From the beginning, ARRI has been shaped by a deep understanding of real‑world production needs.

For more than 100 years, ARRI has developed technologies and services that combine uncompromising image quality, operational reliability, and ease of use. What began with camera engineering has evolved into a global ecosystem supporting professional image creation at the highest level.

Today, ARRI is a family‑owned company headquartered in Munich and recognized worldwide as a trusted technology leader for media and entertainment. Our work is guided by the needs of our customers—with a clear focus on creative freedom, production confidence, and exceptional user experiences.

Motion Picture

ARRI is a long‑standing partner to international feature film and high‑end episodic productions. Our camera systems, lighting, and workflows are trusted worldwide for their image quality, color fidelity, and reliability—supporting productions from pre‑production through post.

Live Entertainment

For live productions and broadcast environments, ARRI combines cinematic image quality with the robustness and operational security required for live workflows. This enables new visual standards for sports, concerts, shows, and other large‑scale events.

Content Creation

ARRI supports professional content creators with tools and technologies designed for flexibility, consistent image quality, and efficient workflows—across formats, platforms, and distribution channels.

ARRI delivers integrated solutions that combine camera systems, lighting, and production services, supported by software and digital tools, for Motion Picture, Live Entertainment, and Content Creation.

Camera Systems

ARRI’s camera systems are designed for high-end image capture across both motion picture and live entertainment environments. The portfolio includes cameras such as ALEXA 265 and ALEXA 35 Xtreme for feature films and premium episodic production, as well as ALEXA 35 Live for multi-camera and live productions.

The ecosystem includes lenses, control and stabilization systems, and digital tools. These components support consistent look creation, precise camera control, and efficient workflows from set to post.

ARRI cameras are used on major international productions such as “Dune: Part Two,” and Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein,” and at events such as The World Games, supported worldwide by a strong global service and distribution network.

Lighting

ARRI develops professional lighting solutions for film, television, studio, live applications, and content creation. The portfolio includes advanced LED fixtures such as SkyPanel X, SkyPanel Pro, L-Series Plus, and Omnibar, alongside a broad range of accessories, control tools, and software.

These systems are designed for high color accuracy, reliability, and flexible integration into modern production workflows.

ARRI lighting solutions are used on internationally successful productions such as “The White Lotus,” “House of the Dragon,” and “Elvis,” and continue to expand into new areas including content creation and live applications.

Software & Services

ARRI extends its hardware portfolio with software, data-driven tools, and integrated production services. From metadata and workflow solutions to advanced digital technologies such as digital twins, ARRI supports more efficient, connected production processes from planning through delivery.

Through ARRI Rental, this expertise is brought together on set. ARRI provides integrated equipment packages, technical expertise, and on-set support that combines camera, lighting, and grip systems into production-ready solutions for high-end projects.

ARRI Rental supports productions such as “The Life of Chuck,” “John Wick: Chapter 4,” and “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” through a global network of locations and specialists.
