ARRIRAW

Hello!

Big fan of this camera -- would love if ARRIRAW could be added as an option. I was told by an engineer at NAB that this was possible. Perhaps if more users/owners chimed in with this demand, ARRI might reconsider. I would be willing to pay the price to make this possible.

Best,

Andrew

Second that. Love this camera, having an Arriraw option upto to 30fps would be huge.

You've got my vote.

It seems that the initial concept for the Amira was as more of a documentary camera but with all the additional features being unlocked in the Mini, it seems that the Amira is being unfairly crippled. With the premium license installed, the cost of the Amira and Mini are similar (I believe), so having additional licenses for ArriRAW and ANAMORPHIC would likely be welcomed by Amira owners (like me).

If it is a question of cost, I'm sure the Amira licenses could be priced so that the Amira isn't providing the same feature set as a Mini at a lower cost.

For anamorphic, I understand the Amira sensors aren't Q/C'd for open gate but the pixel masking in Arri cameras has always been fantastic.

Another vote from me!

This has been discussed before on this forum, but I echo Mr. Steinberg's sentiments. Both ARRIRAW and Anamorphic would be huge to me as an Amira owner. I use the camera for all sorts of productions, but having those capabilities would allow me to use it for just about any feature production that may come my way.

It seems that the Amira Premium has had a small price drop (at least at AbelCine), but initially the Mini and Premium were both the same price.

I understand the reasoning behind leaving the Amira out of more 'luxury' licenses, but I hope the fine folks at ARRI will reconsider!

I totally agree. This would be great.
Giving Alexa mini RAW and anamorphic options, in my opinion killed Amira on the rental market. Especially that you don't need to record in-camera sound anymore, with all the automatic sync tools available today. Even for shooting a documentary I would choose a lighter, more portable mini over heavy and bulky amira.

Canon just announced C200 with internal raw for under $8K. FS7 can do it for around the same price + external recorder. Many clients are asking for this now for post flexibility.

Com'mon, ARRI! Some of us are willing to pay for this upgrade! ;)
