Ultra Prime 8R Sample Footage

Here is a selection of scenes shot with the Ultra Prime 8R lens. The shots were captured in and around Los Angeles, in Arizona and on race tracks in Valencia and Le Castelet.

They demonstrate the Ultra Prime 8R's capabilities to exaggerate speed and put the viewer directly into the action. It also shows how the Ultra Prime 8R stretches the scene horizontally, making both interiors and exteriors seem grander and more spacious.

Ultra Prime 8R Comparison

This short piece includes two scenes comparing the different visual looks of the Ultra Prime 8R, a Nikon 8 mm Fisheye and the Ultra Prime 10 mm lenses. The first scene was shot driving through downtown Los Angeles with the camera mounted on a car, looking up into the sky.

The second scene was shot in Union Station, again with Ultra Prime 8R, Nikon 8 mm Fisheye and Ultra Prime 10 mm, and gives a very good comparison of the different effects of rectilinear and fisheye lenses. An in-depth discussion of the technical differences between rectilinear and fisheye lenses can be found in the article "What is "Rectilinear", What is a "Fisheye"?"
