The EXD-1 is a small, universally usable remote control for all models of 16 SR 3, 435 (as long as a FEM-1 or FEM-2 are present), 535 and 235 ARRIFLEX cameras. It duplicates most of the functions of the built-in camera display, including changing of camera speed and shutter angle and various other parameters. Additionally, camera speed, shutter angle, a footage counter and a take counter can be displayed. The EXD-1 includes MODE, SEL, SET, RUN and PHASE buttons. In order to run ramps, though, the Remote Control Unit RCU-1 or Wireless Remote Control WRC-1 is needed.


The EXD-1 is particularly useful for cameras that have a display on only one side, like the 235, 435 or 535B. Since the EXD-1 is so small and lightweight, it can be mounted anywhere on the camera, using either Velcro or the 120 mm/ 4.7 inches long Universal Mounting Arm UMA-120 that allows quick and easy repositioning. The UMA-120 arm mounts on any camera or handle that has a 3/8-16 threaded hole.
The EXD-1 provides a free positionable display for the 235... ... or, as configured here, for the 435Xtreme.

The included EXD-1 Cable Short (0.8 m/2'7") KC 100-S (K4.65207.0) plugs directly into the CCU plug of most cameras, or into the REMOTE plug of the 235. The EXD-1 can be operated remotely with the EXD-1 Cable Long (20m/66feet) KC-122-S (K2.65067.0).
