Results:

Analysis:
A first test was carried out at the premiere presentation of the reference film with a short and simple survey. Two versions of the film were projected in succession: One originated on film, the other on HDCAM.
A total of 121 persons participated, none of whom knew, which version would be shown first.
After completing the questionnaire, the order of the presentation was revealed to the audience.

The questions were about the technical quality of the images, as well as the realisation of the scenes and the expressiveness of the images.

Survey:
The following results were obtained:
    1. The technical quality of the picture image seemed......

    • higher in version 1.
      •         85,1 %
    • higher in version 2.
      •           9,9 %
    • same in both versions.
      •    4,1 %

    2 - Overall, the scenes were.......

    • better in version 1.
      •          68,6 %
    • better in version 2.
      •             8,3 %
    • same in both versions.
      •   21,5 %

    3 - The expressiveness of the images was........

    • higher in version 1.
      •         76,9 %
    • higher in version 2.
      •         12,4 %
    • same in both versions.
      •     9,1 %

 

Version 1 : 35mm Film / Version 2 : HDCAM transferred to film
