The DP on both jobs was Roberto Schaeffer (“Monster’s Ball”, “Finding Neverland”) and the 1st Assistant Cameraman was Rick Gioia, a very experienced technician, well known to ARRI CSC.  The production company was Block Carter Partnership and the product was “Home Depot”.

Their feedback on the camera was extremely positive. Roberto’s observations were that the camera was great, and that he cannot wait for the 400’ shoulder magazines. He likes the low profile of the 200' magazines, as they allowed him to design the unique shot involving the washing machine. He commented that since the 235 is so small it is going to be placed in some strange and awkward places, and he would have liked to have a long eyepiece in addition to the medium sized one. Luckily, we are already working on just such an eyepiece. He also liked the on-board batteries since they reduce the number of cables.

After this first week in New York, the remaining 235 cameras have immediately been requested for other commercials.
