Integrated Capping Shutter for 435 3 Perforation

More and more productions are shooting with 3 perforation movements, creating an increasing demand for camera accessories that work with 3 perforations. The latest step in ARRI’s support for 3 perforation shooting is the Integrated Capping Shutter (3p) for a 3 perforation 435.

The Integrated Capping Shutter is used when shooting single frame sequences. It cuts the light when the film is not being exposed for long time intervals, to avoid stray light from fogging the film. Its innovative design has been readily accepted since it does not obscure the viewfinder or the video assist when closed. In addition it does not shake the camera when opening and closing. These are all problems associated with external capping shutters.




Since the Integrated Capping Shutter uses a small blade that slides into the gate to cut out all light from hitting the film, a dedicated Integrated Capping Shutter for 3 perforation cameras is necessary. All other Single Frame System accessories, including the regular Single Frame Hand Controller, work with 3 or 4 perforation cameras.

In addition to the new door containing the capping shutter, the set also contains the necessary 3 perforation film gate and 2 film masks.
