ARRI Lighting Solutions -
A first year of Success
ARRI Lighting Solutions, a new ARRI subsidiary
specializing in turn-key studio solutions,
looks back at a busy year. The highly motivated
team of solution experts led by Sigrid Müller
has been able to plan and realize a number
of studio installations already and is busy
preparing more. Choosing Berlin as their
headquarter has proven to be a good decision,
as Berlin is a central point between Western
and Eastern Europe and an advantageous location
for international business.
Two studios were equipped with ARRI lighting
gear for a private television and film production
company at the Mosfilm studios, Moscows
largest film production studio complex.
One is 600, the other 1,200 square meters
(6,500 and 13,000 square feet) in size.
These studios currently serve for the shooting
of 120 episodes of an episodic television
show that is a co-production between the
Russian World Studios AMEDIA and SONY Pictures
Studios. Another studio, approximately 300
square meters (3,250 square feet) in size,
was also equipped with ARRI Studio lights.
In addition, ARRI Lighting Solutions worked
on a project implementing ARRI lighting
and lighting control equipment for the studio
of a university in London. The first ARRI
project in Rumania will be concerned with
the studio of the University of Bucharest.
Furthermore, the solutions team is working
on a project for the German TV station RTL
and is supplying gear to Russia, Ukraine,
Kazakhstan and into the former Yugoslavia.
A special treat was the Company
of the Day award that was presented
to Sigrid Müller and the ARRI Lighting
Solutions team by the mayor of Vilnius,
Mr. Zuokas, during a visit of Berlins mayor,
Klaus Wowereit on the 2 of September 2003.
Together with UNOLITA, their local partner,
ARRI Lighting Solutions is planning a new
studio for film, television and commercials,
which will be the first studio in the Baltics
built to international standards. Klaus
Wowereit thanked Frau Müller for ARRIs
active role in the Baltics.
