Tweak Software unveils support for ALEXA and ARRIRAW

Tweak Software, maker of RV - the next-generation image and sequence viewer for VFX and animation artists - has announced its collaboration with ARRI to integrate high dynamic range, uncompromised color support for ALEXA into Tweak's tools for playback, dailies and transcoding. The ALEXA RV workflow is being shown at NAB 2011 in Las Vegas.

"ARRI welcomed Tweak to the Partner Program just a few short weeks ago," says Neil Fanthom, Head of Market Strategy for ARRI digital camera systems. "Since then, Tweak's development team has fast-tracked ALEXA Log C and ARRIRAW support into RV in time for an NAB preview, with a release planned soon after. With this announcement, ALEXA takes another important step towards greater adoption in high-end VFX applications, continuing to build on the elements of quality, reliability and open-architectural support that have created such widespread success for the camera to date."

ALEXA's astonishing dynamic range and wide color gamut make it a great source for VFX plates and elements.

Seth Rosenthal, co-founder of Tweak Software, comments, “The ALEXA's astonishing dynamic range and wide color gamut make it a great source for VFX plates and elements. RV's floating point, high dynamic range image pipeline, linear-light workflow and uncompromised color handling are a natural match for ALEXA imagery in a high-end VFX pipeline.”

Leading VFX and CG animation studios around the world including Digital Domain, Aardman, ILM and many others use RV to playback and review digital media. RV’s professional, high-performance toolset is built on an open, extensible architecture, allowing users to adapt the software to their own pipelines and styles of working.
