Many congratulations to the 2014 BAFTA Film Award and ASC Award nominees, announced January 8th.
This year seven, rather than the usual five, cinematographers have been nominated by the American Society of Cinematographers. Remarkably, all seven of the films for which they have been recognized made use of ARRI film or digital cameras, and more than half of them captured with ALEXA.
ASC FEATURE FILM NOMINEES
Films shot with ARRI cameras also dominate the BAFTA nominations this year, in fact every single movie nominated in the Best Film, Director and Cinematography BAFTA Award categories made use of ARRI cameras, and more than half of them captured with ALEXA.
Leading the field with 11 nominations is GRAVITY, directed by Alfonso Cuarón and captured with ALEXA cameras by cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki, ASC, AMC.
Close behind with 10 nominations each are 12 YEARS A SLAVE and AMERICAN HUSTLE, both of which were shot with ARRICAM cameras.
Over 75% of the 13 films with three or more BAFTA nominations utilized ARRI cameras.
Huge thanks to all of the BAFTA and ASC-nominated filmmakers who chose to work with our digital and film cameras.
