Enclosed, please find the most recent edition of the ARRI Film & TV newsletter, this time to announce the theatrical release of Dreiviertelmond, an accomplished tragicomedy from writer and director Christian Zübert. It's a humorous, yet thoughtful tale about a grumpy Franconian cab driver (Elmar Wepper) and a vivacious little Turkish girl named Hayat (Mercan Türkoglu) whose worlds collide. This heartwarming tragicomedy from award-winning writer and director Christian Zubert (Lammbock - Shit Happens, Treasure of the White Falcons) features a standout cast that includes Elmar Wepper as a grouchy cab driver, a part that seems tailor-made for him, and the lively newcomer Mercan Türkoglu, who plays the role of 6-year-old Hayat with great authenticity. The touching story was captured on film by DoP Jana Marsik (Lippel's Dream, SameSame but Different). Dreiviertelmond was produced by Robert Marciniak and Uli Aselmann from die film gmbh (Die Perlmutterfarbe, Winter Journey) and is being released theatrically in Germany by Majestic Film.
die film gmbh collaborated once again with ARRI Film & TV for the film's postproduction. Every day, digital dailies were generated from the ALEXA footage and made available for viewing on Webgate. After finishing the offline edit, postproduction was completed at ARRI Film & TV in Munich, including Digital Intermediate (DI Producer: Andreas Mummert, DI Colorist: Andreas Lautil), title design (Lutz Lemke), TV postproduction, digital cinema mastering and lab services.
Filming took place in October and November of 2010 in Nuremberg, Furth and the surrounding areas, as well as in Istanbul. ARRI Rental supplied cameras (ALEXA, Ultra Primes), light and grip equipment.
