Norbert Wunderlich, Director Sales Administration of ARRI Lighting Solutions in Berlin talks about how this division of the ARRI Group specializes in project work, offering design, 3D visualization, consultancy, installation, delivery, training and after-sales service to facilities, events and studios looking to expand or improve their lighting setup. This comprehensive service is available for projects of any size, from simple, small-scale applications to complete turnkey lighting solutions.
Illustrating ARRI's readiness to embrace the challenges of cutting-edge broadcast technologies is the company's concept for HD-based productions, which has been successfully implemented at facilities in Romania and Berlin. At the core of this design concept is a grid system, made up of movable rails that are positioned at different angles to the guide rails. The data and electrical distribution system is managed by dedicated power rails, which allows for maximum flexibility in lighting and faster setup times, as compared to the common 'just use more' approach to light sources.
2010 has heralded a wealth of exciting new projects for the Lighting Solutions team. They include systems for various departments of the German government; Rain TV, a new and HD-focused Russian TV channel; ICTIMAI (ITV), under the roof of AZ-TV - the main public TV channel in Azerbaijan; and Channel 7 in Kazakhstan. In addition, 10 regional studios in Uzbekistan (seven in 2009 and three this year) as well as another new studio complex for Uzbek- TV in Tashkent, will be designed and equipped in collaboration with ARRI.
Meanwhile, technical developments from ARRI's manufacturing division - such as the new concept for focusable LED Fresnel spots - will ensure that the project business is in a position to offer the very latest advances in lighting technology.
