Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival
ARRI is honored to have supported the Taipei Golden Horse Film Project Promotion (FPP) event three years in a row. Film Project Promotion is one of the major highlights of the Golden Horse Awards, which were founded in 1962. It provides a Chinese language film-matching platform, designed to highlight collaborative opportunities between filmmakers, investors and distributors, as well as to link regional industry professionals to international film communities.
The FPP opening party on 16 November gave a warm welcome to representatives from the 30 selected projects, as well as the investors and distributors. ARRI was pleased to attend and to showcase its latest equipment, including the ALEXA Mini and ALEXA XT cameras, alongside M-Series daylight and SkyPanel LED lighting fixtures. Guests were able to not only see the equipment, but also to get their hands on it, allowing them to experience first-hand the solid build quality and user-friendliness of these ARRI shooting tools.
Following the format of last year ARRI invited over 160 guests, including FPP participants, cinematographers, business partners and TV broadcasters, to attend a Bavarian-style dinner party in a German restaurant the day after the FPP opening. This fun event provided a great opportunity for all of the guests to extend their networks, discuss the latest trends and share industry news.
The Golden Horse Awards Ceremony receives rapt attention in Asia. ARRI was thrilled that all of the movies nominated in the Best Feature Film and Best Cinematography categories were shot with ARRI cameras. PORT OF CALL; MOUNTAINS MAY DEPART; THARLO; and THANATOS, DRUNK were all captured with ALEXA, while THE ASSASSIN was shot with ARRI 35 mm film cameras. The heavy presence of ARRI-shot films reflects the ever-growing recognition and trust that ARRI cameras are winning from top Asian filmmakers and the industry as a whole.
ARRI offers many congratulations to THE ASSASSIN for being awarded Best Feature Film, Best Director (Hou Hsiao-hsien) and Best Cinematography (Mark Lee Ping-Bing), but also to all the nominees at the Golden Horse Awards Ceremony.
