Service Manager Technical Optics (m/f)

Job description

  • Set-up the new service area for camera lenses for analogue and digital film cameras
  • Prepare the service concept
  • Define, procure and commission the necessary technical equipment
  • Qualify employees working at international locations with respect to repair work and maintenance of camera lenses
  • Cooperate closely with camera service, product management for camera lenses and quality control
  • Contact person (m/f) for customers with technical issues regarding maintenance/repair

Your responsibilities in detail:

Strategic:

  • Technological set-up of the service centre located at the headquarters (definition and procurement of technical equipment such as measuring devices, tools etc.) as well as definition of workflows
  • Provide support for service centres for camera lenses at existing locations abroad
  • Develop a service concept featuring different service levels according to the technical complexity (starting from tasks that can be carried out by the end user after undergoing the appropriate training to repair work that can only be done in the service centre), in collaboration with the lens manufacturer
  • Conceptualise and implement technical training courses for employees in the service centres 

Operational:

  • Provide maintenance and repair work of camera lenses and optical attachments for digital and analogue film cameras
  • Evaluate camera lenses and optical components (such as contrast measurement, flange focal distance measurement, aperture values, image evaluation during projection, verification of measurement values) 
  • Assemble and adjust lenses, lens groups, lens mounts and electronic components
  • Create and document test reports

Requirements

  • Technically oriented study focussing on optics or successfully completed technical qualification, preferably with an additional qualification as technician (m/f) or master (m/f) specialising in optics
  • Detailed expertise in manufacturing/assembling, maintaining or repairing camera lenses
  • Industry background in technical optics, ideally in the area of lenses
  • Profound expertise in the optical field
  • Experience in the service business is a plus
  • International experience is an advantage
  • Fluency in German, English on a good communication level
  • Ability to work results-oriented, reliable and independently

  • Structured, problem-solving and process-oriented approach
