ARRI is proud to showcase the many third-party software and hardware tools that support the ALEXA camera family. Features of these industry-leading tools include ARRIRAW processing with the ARRI SDK or with custom debayer, Log C and automatic display as Rec 709, ARRI Look Files, ProRes in all flavors, DNxHD, and metadata. The descriptions below detail the solutions offered by these ARRI Partner Program members to ALEXA customers, cinematographers, DITs, editors and colorists.

    Premiere Pro CC 2015 natively supports playback of virtually every format the ALEXA Is capable of recording (ARRIRAW, ProRes, DNxHD). Premiere Pro’s Source Settings allows for adjustment of ARRIRAW’s color space, exposure, and white balance.

    After Effects CC 2015 natively supports playback of virtually every format the ALEXA Is capable of recording (ARRIRAW, ProRes, DNxHD). The Source Settings options allow for adjustment of ARRIRAW’s color space, exposure, and white balance.   

  • Ambient Recording Master Lockit

    Ambient Recording Master Lockit

    The Ambient Recording Master Lockit is a very small, highly accurate time code generator, metadata recorder / server, WiFi router, metadata distribution box and much more. With the ACN-ML multiple cameras and audio recorder can be wirelessly synchronized down to an accuracy of 6 µsec while  ALEXA metadata are read, stored and shared with the sophisticated LockitSCRIPT system and iOS app.

  • Antler Post Plug-in

    Antler Post Plug-in

    Antler Post's main product for the ALEXA is the Log C to Video plugin for Final Cut Pro 7. It enables Log C ProRes material from the ALEXA to be viewed as Rec 709 during editorial. It optionally adds burn-ins of reel name, timecode and frame count. It can also be used to batch transcode rushes with the LUT and burn-ins "baked in".

  • Apple Final Cut Pro X

    Apple Final Cut Pro X

    Final Cut Pro X supports all versions of ProRes recorded by ARRI cameras — including ProRes 4444 XQ. In addition, Final Cut Pro X automatically applies a non-destructive, real-time Rec. 709 look to ARRI footage recorded as Log C or with a 3D LUT. The look can be easily disabled at any time to view original high dynamic range sources or for exporting to a third-party color grading application.

  • Assimilate Scratch, Scratch Play

    Assimilate Scratch, Scratch Play

    ASSIMILATE SCRATCH and SCRATCH Play (free professional format player) fully support ARRIRAW - all ARRI-provided debayers and ASSIMILATE's own "fast debayer"- while also providing camera metadata. In addition, SCRATCH and SCRATCH Play support all variants of ProRes, including ProRes 4444 XQ, and DNxHD, and the use of Log C LUTs. SCRATCH supports Apple ProRes encoding, including 4444 XQ, and playback on both OSX and Windows platforms.

  • Autodesk Smoke for Mac

    Autodesk Smoke for Mac

    Support for ALEXA ARRIRAW; ProRes decoding (excluding ProRes 4444 XQ); DNxHD decoding (excluding DNxHD 444); Log C  (with Autodesk Color Transform); ALEXA Look Files and Metadata extraction & display.

    Autodesk Flame (Premium), Flame Assist, Flare and Lustre

    Support for ALEXA ARRIRAW (Linux Red Hat 5 and 6 and Mac OS X ); ProRes decoding (including ProRes 4444 XQ)  (Linux and Mac OS X); DNxHD decoding (including DNxHD 444) (Linux and Mac OS X); Log C  (with Autodesk Color Transform) (Linux and Mac OS X); ALEXA Look Files (Linux and Mac OS X) and Metadata extraction & display (Linux and Mac OS X).

  • AVID Media Composer

    AVID Media Composer

    Media Composer supports all ProRes codec flavors including ProRes 4444 XQ. ARRI provides a Plug in for ALEXA DNxHD mxf file support. Automatic Log C detection and viewing in Rec 709 by using the standard ALEXA LogC to Rec 709 conversion 3D LUT (for ProRes and DNxHD). Camera metadata is available from ALE file or from ARRI DNxHD AMA plug in.

  • DaVinci Resolve

    DaVinci Resolve

    DaVinci Resolve natively supports ALEXAs recording formats, ARRIRAW, ProRes and DNxHD. The high quality CameraRaw debayer in DaVinci Resolve is user configurable and provides faster than real time performance. Simple and complex shaper LUTs can be used for color space and look application. DaVinci Resolve also natively supports AMIRA and ALEXA 65 recordings.

  • Codex Vault Platform

    Codex Vault Platform

    Codex’s Vault Platform can process ARRIRAW using the Codex RAW processing engine or the ARRI SDK. Camera files can be archived to LTO or disk and a full range of deliverables can be generated, with burn-ins and LUTs. LUTs or ASC-CDL data can be applied. Dailies can also be graded. ALEXA look files are supported.

    ALEXA ProRes (incl. ProRes 4444 XQ) is fully supported (Codex Capture Drives or SxS cards) – in addition, all ProRes varieties can be generated from camera original data.

    With Codex retains all metadata that has been recorded or manually added and passes it into post production. 

  • Codex Dual Dock (SAS)

    Codex Dual Dock (SAS)

    Connected to a Mac Pro, Codex’s Dual Dock allows for two Codex Capture Drives to be cloned at the same time. Additionally, a full range of deliverables can be generated, with burn-ins and LUTs. Pre-made LUTs can be applied to the Log-C image from the camera and/or ASC-CDL data can be applied on a shot-by-shot basis. 

    ALEXA ProRes (incl. ProRes 4444 XQ) is fully supported (Codex Capture Drives) – in addition, all ProRes varieties can be generated from camera original data. 

    Codex retains all metadata that has been recorded or manually added and passes it into post production. 

  • Codex Single Dock (USB-3 or Thunderbolt)

    Connected to a MacBook Pro, Codex’s Single Dock allows for the cloning of a Codex Capture Drive. With a license, a full range of deliverables can be generated, with burn-ins and LUTs. Pre-made LUTs can be applied to the Log-C image from the camera and/or ASC-CDL data can be applied on a shot-by-shot basis. 

    ALEXA ProRes (incl. ProRes 4444 XQ) is fully supported (Codex Capture Drives) – in addition, all ProRes varieties can be generated from camera original data.

    Colorfront Express Dailies supports ARRIRAW processing with a custom debayer and the ARRI SDK. ProRes and DNxHD decoding is supported in all flavors. ALEXA meta data can be extracted and automatic use of LUTs to convert from Log C to Rec 709 including ALEXA Look Files  is implemented. ALEXA Look files can also be edited.

  • Colorfront On-Set Dailies

    Colorfront On-Set Dailies supports ARRIRAW processing with a custom debayer and the ARRI SDK. ProRes and DNxHD decoding is supported in all flavors. ALEXA meta data can be extracted and automatic use of LUTs to convert from Log C to Rec 709 including ALEXA Look Files  is implemented. ALEXA Look files can also be edited.

  • Digital Vision Nucoda

    Digital Vision Nucoda

    Digital Vision Nucoda supports ARRIRAW including the latest SDK. ProRes decoding is fully implemented - import and export – but does not currently include XQ - all on a Windows PC. DNxHD decoding for all formats. Log C- full support - with Nucoda CMS support via Arri web site. Meta data extraction is fully supported with extensive support for passing onward into the Avid workflow as well.

    Filmlight Baselight

    Our products provide easy-to-use workflows for dailies and conform/grading operations. Baselight provides its own debayer as well as supporting the ARRI debayer, and can display all metadata too. The system handles professional codecs on-the-fly, encompassing both Apple ProRes (including ProRes 4444 XQ on Linux), and DNxHD (including DNx444). Its powerful generalised colour spaces provide bespoke transformation from LogC to any desired colour space at a higher quality than can be achieved with a LUT, and without requiring external LUTs or Truelight profiles. 

  • Filmlight Daylight

    Filmlight Daylight

    Our products provide easy-to-use workflows for dailies and conform/grading operations. Daylight provides its own debayer as well as supporting the ARRI debayer. The system handles professional codecs on-the-fly, encompassing both Apple ProRes (including ProRes 4444 XQ on Mac OS X), and DNxHD (including DNx444).Its powerful generalised colour spaces provide bespoke transformation from LogC to any desired colour space at a higher quality than can be achieved with a LUT, and without requiring external LUTs or Truelight profiles. Daylight can also extract and display all AMIRA metadata.

    FireCloud is a finishing software. FireCloud is ready for ALEXA workflows. FireCloud supports ProRes up to 4444 and ARRIRAW. FireCloud’s main features are conformance, editing, high end color grading (unlimited secondaries, unlimited shapes). FireCloud is resolution independent. Firefly is a high-end complete digital post-production workflow desktop solution (Mac OS) composed of an on-set/near-set module (digital dailies and color grading) and a post module (DI and finishing) that are sharing extensive database functionality.

  • Lightcraft Previzion

    Lightcraft Previzion

    With the ALEXA Plus or ALEXA XT Plus, Previzion supports the direct reading of lens metadata embedded in the HDSDI data stream. When using LDS enabled lenses or when using ARRI lens controller motors that are driven by the ALEXA on a non-LDS lens, Previzion is able to read the ARRI lens data directly from the incoming video signal.

    Pomfort Silverstack

    Silverstack is a data management software for offloading ALEXA ProRes and ARRIRAW footage from camera media and managing camera specific metadata. During playback of ALEXA Log C footage, the embedded ALEXA Look or the default ALEXA LUT is applied.

  • Pomfort LiveGrade Pro

    Pomfort LiveGrade Pro

    LiveGrade is a color and look management application for manipulating live HD-SDI signals. You can interactively create ALEXA Looks, apply custom looks or the default ALEXA LUT on ALEXA Log C signals. 

  • Quantel Pablo Rio

    Quantel Pablo Rio

    All Quantel post production systems fully support the latest ARRIRAW SDK, including the new debayer modes, colorspaces and sizing. ProRes decoding is fully supported on import and softmount on all Quantel post production systems. Encoding of ProRes: Pablo Rio and Pablo PA, including 4444 XQ. All Quantel systems support 8-bit and 10-bit DNxHD decoding at all the common compression rates. Log C and ALEXA Look Files are supported via the ARRI LUT generator - With the implementation of the new ARRIRAW SDK, even more metadata is available. ARRI ALEXA media is easily conformed on Quantel systems.

    The :pulse offers ALEXA users the following advanced functionality: Supply long range wireless TC sync into the ALEXA and metadata out with wireless remote control of camera and lens motors. Use the :pulse Ethernet/WiFi bridge to facilitate remote control of an ALEXA camera and lens motor from the MovieSlate iOS app. Start/stop recording; move lens motors with pre-set witness marks; monitor camera media; monitor camera status and access other settings and metadata. Share all metadata to the app's shot log history to produce detailed export reports for your production.
