OPENING IN GERMAN THEATERS ON MAY 5, 2011: WILLKOMMEN IM SÜDEN

Director Luca Miniero, Willkommen im Süden, makes the political personal in a film that is a plea for integration and enthusiasm for other flavors and tastes. A film that never resorts to insults, it takes place beyond any of the current political debates and, in a subtle manner, sends a profound message about the encounter and the confrontation of the North and the South. The film was shot in a picturesque setting in Southern Italy by DoP Paolo Carnera. This comedy was produced by Medusa Film in collaboration with Cattleya Film as a co-production with Constantin Film. The latter is releasing the film in German theaters.

Constantin Film entrusted ARRI Film & TV with the production of release prints and the digital cinema mastering, as well as with creating the release prints of the trailer and the feature film itself.

Alberto (CLAUDIO BISIO) has had enough! He's sick of his small postal office in a rural part of Northern Italy. Encouraged by his wife (A NGELA FINOCCHIARO) he tries to get transferred to the bustling city Milano and to improve his chances he makes a fatal mistake: He pretends to be handicapped. But the deceit is uncovered and Alberto is transferred to Southern Italy for disciplinary reasons. A nightmare for anyone from Northern Italy!  On his own and with an ominous sense of foreboding he heads down into the land of dawdlers and mafiosos, where an incomprehensible form of Italian is spoken and garbage collects in the streets. But, instead of a rude awakening, Albert discovers a picturesque town and lovely people, incredible food, warm-hearted colleagues and the one true friend every person needs in life: the mailman Mattia (ALESSANDRO SIANI), whom he helps to win back the heart of the beautiful Maria (VALENTINA LODOVINI). But now Alberto has another problem: How to tell his family and friends up North that he loves his southern exile? When his wife decides to visit her supposedly miserable husband, it's not just his marriage that takes an unexpected turn.

As bright, colorful and unique as the film's main character, Lily, are the images that writer, director and DoP Fabienne Berthaud created for her story, Barfuß auf Nacktschnecken. In 2010 the film received the Art Cinema Award in Cannes. This summery tragicomedy was produced by Le Bureau and is being released in Germany by Alamode.

Alamode entrusted ARRI Film & TV with the lab and with creating the release prints .

Lily (Ludivine Sagnier) is different. She lives in a whimsical fantasy world and does mostly what she feels like doing. Together with her mother she resides in a quaint house in the country. When the mother dies unexpectedly, however, it's up to Lily's sister, Clara (Diane Kruger), who's married to a lawyer and lives in Paris, to take care of her. Under the influence of her willful and free spirited sister, Clara increasingly grows to like Lily's freedom and begins to question her well-adjusted life. This poses a tremendous challenge for her marriage but it also allows two unlike sisters to reclaim their closeness.
