Who we are

ARRI was founded in Munich in 1917 by filmmakers August Arnold and Robert Richter, driven by the belief that creative vision depends on reliable, precise, and intuitive technology. From the beginning, ARRI has been shaped by a deep understanding of real‑world production needs.

For more than 100 years, ARRI has developed technologies and services that combine uncompromising image quality, operational reliability, and ease of use. What began with camera engineering has evolved into a global ecosystem supporting professional image creation at the highest level.

Today, ARRI is a family‑owned company headquartered in Munich and recognized worldwide as a trusted technology leader for media and entertainment. Our work is guided by the needs of our customers—with a clear focus on creative freedom, production confidence, and exceptional user experiences.
