- The first chapter deals with the definition of resolution and sharpness, focusing on the viewer’s perception of 35 mm and 16 mm images.
- The second part describes the information content of 16 mm, 35 mm and 65 mm film and how this should ideally be transferred into the digital realm.
- The third section explains human visual perception and the limitations in theatrical viewing of digital and analog images.

Dr. Hans Kiening has worked in the R&D department of ARRI since 1996. He specializes in the field of image analysis.
