4K+ Systems - Theory Basics for Motion Picture Imaging

This tutorial in three parts discusses image quality for high definition television and digital content.
  1. The first chapter deals with the definition of resolution and sharpness, focusing on the viewer’s perception of 35 mm and 16 mm images.

  2. The second part describes the information content of 16 mm, 35 mm and 65 mm film and how this should ideally be transferred into the digital realm.

  3. The third section explains human visual perception and the limitations in theatrical viewing of digital and analog images.
